Marine Education Development is offering a curriculum for people of all ages to learn about the ocean environment and environmental issues–from children in grades 3-12 to university students and veterans.
All marine science activities incorporate major components of the state science framework and each trip is modified to suit its age group.
The curriculum includes:
- Off-campus field trips followed by in-class projects
- Observations of marine life
- Use of oceanographic and scientific instruments and equipment for observation and analysis
- Log and evaluate observations
- Return sea life to their natural habitat
Students write a summary of observations upon return to the classroom.
